For Transgender Children TeensAnd Their FamiliesBefore it becomes a butterfly, a caterpillar goes through a growth stage during which it is called a "chrysalis." On the surface it may not look like much is happening, but the delicate chrysalis process changes the fuzzy caterpillar into an awesome butterfly with wings of intricate designs and intense colors.
YOU ARE NOT ALONEThere are lots of us out here. Research tells us that roughly ten percent of the population is transgendered.I know hard to believe, you feel so alone!
What is in this web site? LOTS of information, and I hope more importantly LOVE. This web is for you! I am including sections for parents and counselors. We have been where you are now and we share your pain and suffering. When I started working on this web I sent out a question to two of the E-mail groups of which I am a part, asking; what they would have wanted to know as they were growing up. And the answers are under Wanted to Know. The responses to those questions are the basis for some of the pages in this web. They have been written by a number of people with different experiences but have the shared in the experiences of being transgendered. One of the most common concerns expressed was in dealing with religion and faith. We will try and address not only Christianity but other religions as we have information. Respect yourself. You have a right to be here! Particularly at a young age, gender can shift, and what is expressed may change with time. I want you to be aware of this. Even as adults we are often fluid in how we identify. Please feel free to contact us.
